LIVE Day: Rail

Journey into MOTAT this November as we celebrate all things train, tram and track with LIVE DAY: Rail!

Jump aboard one of our meticulously restored steam trains that traverse the Western Springs Railway behind the Aviation Hall. Catch a ride at either Waitītiko Station or Sir Keith Park Station, departing every 15 minutes.

Whether you're a lifelong train enthusiast or just looking for a great family day out, there’s something for everyone:
• Get creative with screen printing, chalk art and mini steam train crafts.
• Enjoy backyard games and hear stories of the incredible powerhouses of early rail.

It’s a full day of rail-y good fun for the whole whānau.
