Got to learn bicycle maintanence, or get into bike refurbishment?
Biketober is the perfect month to learn more about bikes!
** Also if you have a bike to donate, this would be a great day to rehome it to a good cause!**
Social enterprise Got To Get Out is hosting a Workshop open day / bike maintanence lessson on Sunday 19th October at the Got To Get Out Workshop.
10am-1pm, bring a snack!
Our workshop is located in the Wairau Zero Waste Hub, 5/9 Porana Road, Glenfield Auckland.
GTGO founder Robert Bruce and volunteer bike mechanics will demonstrate and involve you with how we take a 'discarded unwanted bike' and turn it into a working, safe, reliable bike - ready to ride for summer.
At this session, starting 10am sharp, we will have a variety of bikes that are in need of full service:
You can get involved with:
- cleaning the bike,
- assessing condition,
- degreasing, lubing,
- removing chains,
- changing out cables
- replacing brake pads
- test riding, if we are lucky!
At the end of this session you should have learned a great deal about how to look after your own bike, a do basic repairs, or maybe you want to get involved more often.
If you want to join us as a regular part of our volunteer team, this is a great time to get to know us too!
** If you have a bike to donate, this would be a great day for it, contact
