Ke lo Ke* – New Zealand’s premier Cuban Jazz band – unites world-class musicians from Cuba, Chile, Scotland, England, and Aotearoa. Their music is a thrilling fusion of Afro-Cuban roots, Salsa, Timba, and Latin jazz, inspired by legends like Irakere, Buena Vista Social Club, Los Van Van and Habana D’ Primera.
Led by Cuban maestro Isbert Ramos Mediaceja ‘Vivio’, the line-up features soaring vocals from Marcelo Valencia, top-class piano from Karl Benton, unstoppable bass from Alex Griffiths, irresistible brass by Pete France and Jake Krishnamurti, and fiery percussion from Ignacio Valencia. Together they deliver an unforgettable performance that’s equal parts sophisticated jazz lounge and high-energy Cuban fiesta.
