Thank you to those of you who attended the recent AGM of Howick Ratepayers and Residents Association, at which we listened to and questioned several of our candidates for Mayor and Councillors in the current Local Body elections - for which voting opened last week.
.
Of interest to those who did not attend, Councillor Maurice Williamson also presented on the current Government’s disastrous Auckland intensification plan, which is ambushing our entire city without our consent and with zero infrastructure.
.
It will compel another 2 million dwellings (in ADDITION to the 900,000 already catered for under the existing Auckland Unitary Plan), meaning it will force an additional 6 million people (more than our total population) into this fragile isthmus, obliterating our very way of life.
.
This is one of the greatest issues in the history of Auckland, and we would urge you to take advantage of a second opportunity to hear Maurice on the topic.
.
He will be speaking at the Howick and Pakuranga District’s Grey Power Association’s "Meet the Candidates" meeting, 1pm, Friday 26 September, at St Andrew’s Church, 11 Vincent Street, Howick.
.
Do try to be there. Yes, it will be a chance to grill our potential Councillors and Mayor; but it is crucial that we all play a part in rescuing this precious and vulnerable city from Minister Bishop’s crazy scheme.
.
The meeting starts at 1pm with the candidates, refreshments and questions, then Maurice’s session, finishing at 3.15pm.
.
All welcome - and do bring a friend.
.
This is war, and we need to win this one.
See you there.
