Taskmaster meets Sex Education... Before We Begin returns for three nights only!
After delighting audiences at Pride, the Before We Begin team are thrilled to be coming back to Basement and Tāmaki Makaurau audiences before making our Australian premiere at Adelaide Fringe.
Let's be honest, touring internationally is expensive af! So, we need your help. Ticket sales directly support us to get to Adelaide Fringe (particularly flights, accommodation, venue hire, and marketing costs). If you're able, we encourage you to support the show with the Standard + Donation ticket option.
Whether you've seen it before or this is your first time, grab some friends and come join us for a naughty, silly, tender, cheeky, and playful hour you won't forget.

Before We Begin asks for permission.
It waits until you’re ready to play.
It hopes you’ll like it.
An experimental solo about consent and queer intimacy. Explored through a series of escalating invitations for performer and audience.
Naughty, playful, awkward, joyful, and surprisingly tender. A vulnerable act of trust, patience, and curiosity - navigated in real-time. An important conversation that never feels like one.
Say yes, say maybe, say absolutely not. Nothing happens without your say-so. What does happen might surprise you.
"We need to talk about this. And f**k me, it's hard."
Audiences praised it as “some of the safest interactive theatre” they’ve seen.
Ready to play?
