The Antipodes Quartet unites bold voices, fresh perspectives, and a shared vision—breathing new life into string quartet music. Rooted in tradition, driven by curiosity, they explore, connect, and reimagine.
The Antipodes Quartet was founded in 2025, bringing together the brightest emerging string players of New Zealand. Comprised of violinists Eden Annesley and Mana Waiariki, violist Tal Amoore and cellist Lavinnia Rae, the group is performing in their debut tour across New Zealand in partnership with Chamber Music New Zealand.
In this self-presented Auckland debut, the Antipodes Quartet will be presenting a diverse programme of string quartet music from voices both close and far to home.
Drawing on the idea of 'liminal spaces,' and the in-between, the Antipodes Quartet will take audiences on an adventure through the unique musical voices of Haydn, Webern, Salina Fisher and Ravel. A concert not to be missed presented by some of Aotearoa top emerging artists.
