Redeeming Technology - Internet Safety Talk

2 Speakers give this topic a well-rounded approach for safety, emotional and spiritual health.

Mayor Tom Berola spent 15 years in the High Tech Crimes division of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. He was the downstate contact for the USDOJ Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Pastor Joshua Theilen is the Executive Director of Camp CILCA and encourages outdoor, creative and spiritual activities as alternatives to online activities.

Parent-child communication is the first defense for helping children and teens grow into healthy and responsible digital citizens. Parents must initiate conversations with young people. Build a family media plan that balances time with and without devices. Work together to set rules about media use.

All adults are encouraged to attend to learn about this topic. You may be able to help a relative, friend or neighbor. The talk will be appropriate for

Childcare & children’s activities will be provided for 4th grade and under. Dinner will be served at 6PM. The talk will begin at 6:30.
