Insurance Expert William Witzke @ FOL Noon Speaker Series

California homeowners face big changes ahead under Gavin Newsom's newly announced wildfire insurance reforms. Insurance Expert William Witzke will explain the governor's sweeping proposal, which directs state agencies to design new tools for sharing the catastrophic wildfire risk, strengthening coverage in high-risk areas and ensuring insurance companies remain active in fire-prone regions. Supporters say the plan could reduce over reliance on California's strained FAIR plan while critics warn of premium increases. In addition, Witzke will highlight practical step homeowners can take to mitigate wildfire risk, qualify for insurance discounts and secure coverage alternatives. This program is free and open to the public. The Rose Room can be entered directly from the west side of City Hall.
