Join us for a conversation with games journalist and critic Quintin Smith on his work spanning traditional journalism and new media, including a decade+ as a highly successful YouTube creator. A reception will follow.
Mr. Smith's two-decade career in game journalism has ranged from traditional media (Rock, Paper, Shotgun, The Guardian, IGN, Edge, WIRED, and Vice) to working as a pioneer of video content. He was the co-founder of the leading boardgame reviewing site Shut Up And Sit Down, and now splits his time between investigative work into the game industry (People Make Games) and his solo work reviewing tabletop roleplaying games (Quinns Quest). There are few more canny, careful, and passionate advocates for the serious joy of games.
From 6-8 PM, Mr. Smith will run , "a game of M**der and mystery, lies and logic, deduction and deception." Preregistration is required, and space is limited.
Sponsored by the Office of the Provost, Office for the VP for Research, the College of Liberal Arts, & the Draughon Center.
Also check out other Arts events in Auburn.
