Apply now to take part in the 2nd Annual Día de los Muertos Celebration & Altar Competition! The altars will be on display in addition to the event and are a major part of this special cultural event.

Set-Up:
11:00am-5:00 p.m. October 24 through October 26, 2025
Preparing for Competition:
Altars MUST be completed by 5:00pm on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
Exhibit and Competition:
On display to the public October 29-November 1st during the Noyes Arts Garage regular hours of operations: Wednesday through Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Prizes :
• Community Favorite $500 (determined by community vote)
• 1st Place- Most Traditional $500 (determined by panel of judges)
• 1st Place- Most Creative $500 (determined by panel of judges)
Judging:
6:30pm to 8:00pm on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
The following areas will be graded:
• Creativity
• Attachment to customs
• Traditional elements used
Awards:
Immediately following judging on November 1st.
Tear-Down:
Sunday, November 2nd, Monday, November 3rd, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Space must be cleared.
• Please be respectful of the altar space by bringing large trash bags to clean your space at the end of the event. Trash must be taken with you after you are done tearing down.
Additional Guidelines:
• Due to fire code no, open flame and or burning candles allowed. You may illuminate your altar with battery powered candles or solar lights.
• Due to the duration of the exhibit please do not have any open or uncovered fresh food.
• We recommend using artificial food or representations as a best practice.
• Selling merchandise at your altar site is strictly prohibited.
• Parking is not free as it is independent from the Noye’s Arts Garage. Please be mindful of associated fee if parking in the garage.

This is a Prudential North to Shore official selection event, which is sponsored by Prudential and produced by NJPAC.
For the second year on this Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University invites you to a free, immersive celebration of Mexican heritage, vibrant artistry and heartfelt remembrance. Stroll through a wonderland of color, music and tradition as we honor loved ones with joy, creativity and community spirit.
Presented in partnership with local Atlantic City Hispanic organizations, El Pueblo Unido of Atlantic City and Organización Azteca, this is a night of art, remembrance and community joy you won’t want to miss!
