Enjoy taking on, in this order: trail, road, rail trail, road, rail trail, mountain bike trail, gravel road. That's right, we are going for a nice relaxing long run around the outskirts of and then into Atherton. Be a tourist in your own area and enjoy the quick transitions from bushland to urban, from soft meandering tracks to hard and fast concrete. Take it all in, have a chat to a mate along the way, and join us for breakfast back where we started at Rifle Range Road.
Altitude: Easy. If you know Cook Street and Grove Street, then you already know the toughest bits of the course; nothing compared to what we have run in the past :).
Terrain: Easy to medium, if wet weather in week leading up to run upgrade to medium to hard. Dirt, rocky uneven ground, unsealed gravel, possible water crossings depending on weather and long or short course choice, and sealed bitumen and concrete surfaces, trail shoes recommended due to mud on trails. If you have the choice, go for trail shoes with a "knobbly" tread, which is more designed for wet season mud than loose gravel and dry compacted dirt.
