We're pleased to present the Tony Award-winning play by David Auburn, Proof, directed by Autumn N. Lowry.
The cast stars ACT alums Alexandra Lauterbach as Catherine, Michael Webb as Hal, and Dave Siklosi as Robert. We’re pleased to welcome Nora McNabb, making her ACT debut, as Claire.
Proof is directed by Autumn N. Lowry, who adapted (along with writing partner J. Brad McKenzie) and directed A Christmas Carol. Lowry is a longtime ACT performer.
In Proof, we meet Catherine, a troubled young woman on the eve of her twenty-fifth birthday, who has spent years caring for her brilliant and famous but unstable father. Over the long weekend that follows his death, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father’s madness—or genius—will she inherit?
Proof closes the Athens Community Theatre 2025 - 26 Dessert Series. Show dates and times are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 26 - 28, at 7:30 PM, and Sunday, March 29, at 2:00 PM.
Tickets go on sale Friday, February 13, and patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets early, as ACT events tend to sell out on, or before, the performance date.
Athens Community Theatre Dessert Series presents patrons with experimental, thought-provoking, and sometimes decadent theatre that is definitely better after dinner. Unless otherwise noted, all ACT Dessert Series Productions take place in the Willson Family Theater in the Peggy Dow Performance Center at The Arts Center.
