We are approaching the fire festival of Samhain, the most powerful day in the Celtic calendar. An Cailleach, the Crone Goddess — the Wise Woman — reigns over this darker half of the year. Her presence is strong at the Cairns at Loughcrew, where her energy stirs in the wind at this sacred site. She holds her reign until Imbolc, when the mantle passes to Goddess Brigid, heralding the return of the light.
At this time, nature itself shows signs of letting go. Leaves fall and the earth dreams of the seeds that will bring forth the new cycle. Samhain invites us to mirror this process — to release old cycles, habits, and ways of being that no longer serve us and to plant the seeds of our own intentions for the year ahead.
As nature slows and turns inward, we are called to do the same: to quiet our mind and listen to the gentle whispers of our heart. As the leaves drift to the ground, we may ask ourselves:
‘What are we shedding and letting die?’
‘What space are we making, and what seeds of intention are we planting to nurture and reap in Spring when we celebrate Imbolc and honor Goddess Brigid?’
This Gathering invites you to begin this sacred work, to release what no longer aligns with your highest good and to plant your seeds of intentions as we welcome the Celtic New Year.
I truly look forward to welcoming you into this sacred container — to rest, to receive, and to simply be.
