David Luther is an Americana songwriter and performer based in Kansas City. He often explores themes of resilience, spiritual and emotional growth, and the search for connection and beauty found in everyday life. He strives to craft songs that resonate with sincerity and a deep sense of place and purpose.
David recorded his first self-titled EP in 2009 with Nashville producer Neilson Hubbard. It featured backing vocals from the wonderful Americana artist Garrison Starr. His last album, Take Me Home also held significant collaborations, including songs he wrote with the Grammy Award winner Thomas Whitlock and the talented Kansas City-based musician and producer, David George.
In July of 2024, he joined Neilson Hubbard again, along with Juan Solórzano and engineer Dylan Alldredge, in their East Nashville studio to record my latest album, Who You Are. Following a successful Kickstarter campaign the record was released on April 25, 2025. It features partner Kelly Dougherty on the track “Wrecking Bay” and Garrison Starr lending her beautiful voice once more on “If Love Just Ain't Enough.” David said, “I didn’t want to just make a new record. I wanted to make a record that would change my life and to meet people where they are at. Sharing these songs continues to be a new and humbling inspiration.
David will be performing solo at Fox & Co. Apothecary in Atchison, KS on Friday October 24th from 5pm - 6:45 in support of his recently release album Who You Are.
