Join us for Blissful Bedrooms Annual Potluck Picnic!!

We couldn't let the summer come to an end without having our annual picnic in Astoria Park! Come enjoy time with us at Blissful Bedrooms 14th Annual Potluck Picnic in Astoria Park.
WHERE: The regular spot! Astoria Park (which sits on the edge of the East River and rests between the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge (Triboro) and Hells Gate Bridge. It’s a big park. Save yourself a lot of searching and walking by entering the park entrance on Ditmars Blvd (between 19th Street and Shore Blvd). Walk on the path towards the water and look for Blissful Bedrooms signs and a happy bunch of people on the grass to the left.

Please note that this is the address to use for Access-a-Ride because it will leave you at the entrance closest to our location. DO NOT make the reservation for Astoria Park; it's a big park, and you will have to walk a long way otherwise.
Public Transportation:
N or W train to Ditmars Blvd. You can walk 12 blocks to the park (about 10 minutes) or transfer to the Q69 on Ditmars Blvd and 31st street and get off at 21st/Ditmars (3 stops) and walk two blocks to the park entrance.
POTLUCK: What’s a potluck, you may ask? A potluck is a gathering where each guest contributes a dish of food that is to be shared.
Please bring a generous helping of your favorite homemade dish, delicious store bought food, fruit, snacks, drinks, desserts, etc. to share! Please let Martha know what you are planning to bring when you RSVP so we don't duplicate your offering.
Also, please bring beach chairs/blankets to sit on, towels to dry off, and any fun games/activities to add to the festivities.
We will have tables set up for arts & crafts where you can paint, create and chill with your friends.
Since everyone loved the Bingo activity last year, we are doing it again. This time we are doing FLEA MARKET BINGO! Martha made that name up, lol. If you have a beautiful object or treasure that you have enjoyed but want to pass on for someone else to enjoy, please bring it to add to the Bingo prize table. It's a good opportunity to recycle a knick knack and free up space in your place.
Do you have some fun talents, resources, or ideas to make our picnic even better? Please reach out! We are always excited for children's entertainers, face painters, musicians, etc. to be our partners in compassion.

There is a children’s playground with an awesome sprinklers area close by, a public bathroom, a public pool, and plenty of grounds to explore.
VOLUNTEERS/CONTRIBUTORS ARE VERY MUCH NEEDED! Everything from helping with set-up and breakdown, pushing our guests in wheelchairs to the destination from the walkway, assistance with carrying out recreational events, etc. You are guaranteed to have a rewarding and joyful day!
