We need your help.
Every year, millions of women around the world give birth without any medical assistance or with the help of a Traditional Birth Attendant. To address this issue, Birthing Kits have been created to provide a clean and safe environment for delivery, thus reducing the risk of infections and bleeding. These kits typically include essential items such as a plastic sheet, gauze, soap, gloves, cord ties, and a sterile scalpel blade.
In 2023, the ladies from Zonta Club of Northside and amazing friends assembled 400 kits. These kits were distributed to women in Tanzania. In 2024, we went bigger and assembled 600 kits, which were distributed to the Democratic Replubic of Congo and Papua New Guinnea.
Come and join us, Sunday 31 August at Aspley Hornets, where we will be assembling Birthing Kits to send to much needed women and girls around the world.... and help create a world in which all women and girls have access to a clean and safe birth.
