Join us for an evening of conversation and connection at our annual Plants & Pints fundraiser event on Tuesday, October 28, from 6:30-9 p.m., at Glacial Till Cider House & Tasting Room (1419 Silver Street, Ashland).
Dr. Barbara Boustead, author of “Wilder Weather: What Laura Ingalls Wilder Teaches Us about the Weather, Climate, and Protecting What We Cherish,” will be the keynote speaker at the event.
Dr. Boustead is a meteorologist and climatologist, as well as a Laura Ingalls Wilder scholar. She has expertise in both weather data analysis and the deeper stories of the weather in Wilder’s books, homes and life. Her love of weather and of the “Little House” books both grew from early elementary age and stayed with her throughout her life as she has woven together these seemingly disparate interests. Born in Michigan, Dr. Boustead now lives in Nebraska with her family.
Plants & Pints is an annual fundraising event for the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, with proceeds supporting NSA’s tree planting, garden making and environmental education and outreach throughout the state. Tickets for Plants & Pints are $25 for NSA members and $30 for non-members. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be open. Register at plantnebraska.org/plants-pints (21 and older only).
An option to purchase a copy of “Wilder Weather” at the discounted price of $20 (retail price is $24.95) with an event ticket purchase is available. NSA will bring copies of the purchased books to the October 28 event. The book purchase option is only available until September 29; a very limited supply of books will be available for purchase at the event.
We look forward to seeing you at Plants & Pints!
