We are excited to announce that the first “Blazing a Trail to Safety” event will bring fifth through ninth grade students and their families together to learn, connect and discuss online safety, firearm safety, and medication and substance use safety. The event is a collaborative effort between Hanover County Public Schools, Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, Hanover County Community Services Board, Hanover Cares and Green Top Sporting Goods.
“Blazing a Trail to Safety” will be held on Tuesday, February 3 from 5:45 to 8 p.m. at Liberty Middle School.
Please note the following:
-Space is limited. Please register by Sunday, January 25 via this form.
-Dinner will be provided.
-Childcare will be available at no cost for ages two through fourth grade.
During the event, attendees will rotate between three 20-minute sessions on online safety, firearm safety, and medication and substance use safety. Following these sessions, students will meet in the school cafeteria while, separately, parents and caregivers meet in the school library.
The event will end with dessert and a closing collaborative activity.
