Don’t have a sewing machine at home? Whether you’re a confident mender or keen to learn the basics, the monthly Library Sewing Station at Ashfield Library is here for you.
Book a free 30-minute session to use our sewing machines, and bring your garment for simple repairs like taking up a hem or sewing on a patch. Basic materials will be available (such as thread, pins and scissors), and a friendly Sewing Supervisor will be on hand to ensure safety and offer light guidance.
This is not a structured class or alterations service, but rather a welcoming, DIY space where you can get things done, pick up some tips, and practise sustainability through saving your treasured items.
These three sessions run on the fourth Tuesday of the month:
Be inspired by more sewing tips and projects here.
Ages: This program welcomes all adults and young adults. Children under 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
