Learn how to choose and install plants that will help keep your home safer in the event of fire danger. We will discuss how to maintain your landscape to further reduce your risk and keep your landscaping in good shape. We will also talk about different plants and ground covers that might be more flammable and some solutions to common issues.

Jeff Seitz was the owner and operator of Appalachian Creek Nursery for 23 years and has been designing, installing, and managing landscapes in the Asheville area his entire life. Jeff has been on the board of directors of Greenworks, Black Mountain Chamber of Commerce, Black Mountain Beautification Committee, and Asheville Home Builders. He is a licensed landscape contractor and holds certifications with energy efficient landscapes as well as residential rain gardens. In addition to all of these accomplishments he is a NC Certified Plant Professional and is a tour participant with the Master Gardeners each year.
