In April of 2011 the first Festivus Games took place. Novice and Intermediate athlets make up 95% athletes, it made sense to have a competition designed specifically for them. A competition where there were no RX, fire-breather athletes allowed. Fast forward to 2025, and Festivus Games evolved into the TRU Challenge. "TRU" holds many meanings, but most of all we believe that all our athletes are TRU athletes.
TRU Challenge is designed so that the workouts don’t need to be scaled. Whether you have been training for six years or six months, you will not need to scale any of the movements. The competition is about capacity more than high degree of skill. Everyone can row…just how fast?
When you compete in the TRU Challenge, you can expect to be tested but you can also expect to have a lot of fun! Our Novice division is perfect for your first functional-fitness competition. Our Intermediate division will provide enough of a test for all but the best of the best athletes. This means TRU Challenge can be your choice of competition for years! Are you are Masters athlete? We’ve got you covered with our Masters division. We even have divisions for all Adaptive athletes.
