Before he revolutionized popular cinema with STAR WARS, George Lucas crafted this laid back ensemble piece set across one summer night in 1962. Cruising through the lives of recent graduates and townies in Modesto, CA as they look toward an uncertain future, AMERICAN GRAFFITI captures a specific time and place before the explosion of a turbulent decade. Remarkable in its authenticity, lived-in youthful performances (notably Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Cindy Williams, among others), its spirit remains timeless.
