Step into the fascinating world of industrial railways at Amberley Museum’s Spring Industrial Trains event! This special day showcases the Museum’s impressive collection of industrial locomotives and offers visitors an unforgettable experience packed with activities, demonstrations, and rides.
Highlights of the Day:
Drive a Locomotive: Take the controls of a locomotive on one of our industrial lines (without a train attached) for a unique hands-on experience. (Suggested donation of £5 applies for this activity)
Passenger Train Rides: Enjoy a ride on the industrial passenger trains, with departures coordinated throughout the day.
Locomotive Demonstrations: Watch and photograph a selection of industrial locomotives in action as they haul historic wagons around the Museum’s narrow-gauge railway.
Ranger Bridge Views: Stand atop our ‘Ranger Bridge’ for a stunning vantage point of the tracks, perfect for capturing the trains as they move back and forth.
Bus Rides: Hop aboard a classic or historic bus for a nostalgic journey around the Museum.
Road Machines Monorail: See the unique contractor’s monorail system in action with live demonstrations.
Meet the Volunteers: Chat with our Railway Volunteers to learn about the rich history of Amberley’s railway and discover how you can get involved with the Rail Group.
