Intro to Weaving: Make a Little Pouch!

Weaving is a fun and deeply satisfying craft with a rich history from around the world. This class is a perfect way to dip your toe into the world of weaving and create something beautiful and functional.

In this class, students will learn the basics of weaving by creating their own small pouch, using a variety of tapestry weaving techniques. Students will use a flat wooden tapestry loom, weaving on both sides to form the shape of their bag. They will learn to warp the loom, the plain weave stitch, color blocking and basic shapes, and how to make a buttonhole. When it’s time to take the fabric off the loom, students will learn finishing techniques and assemble their project into a unique handmade pouch.
