Improve your confidence and and ability performing rescues on the water! This 5 day course is solely dedicated to learning and practising the different types of rescues (self rescues, T rescues, scoop rescues, paddle presentation rescues, hand of god rescues among others!). We start off in flat water and then progress throughout the week into rougher water once everyone is doing the rescues well in flat water. The idea is to allow people to gain much needed rescue practice over a number of days of repeated rescues, until they come naturally and easily. The environment will, as usual, be fun and relaxed!
There is no requirement to be able to roll for this course, you just need to be confident and able in manoeuvring the kayak. Even if you feel wobbly doing rescues, this course will help you a lot and by the end of the week you'll be feeling much better about your ability to help others. If you're already a leader on the sea and haven't been getting as much practice as you would like, this course would also help your confidence immensely.
