Winter is when real riders come alive. Join Cannondale, Ride Out Amsterdam and Erwin Sikkens for a unique off-season experience: two days of pure gravel from Arnhem to Zwolle, inspired by Erwin’s original Brown Divide route.
Together, we’ll cross the Veluwe, through forests, heaths, and endless gravel tracks. Sharing miles, stories, and a true sense of adventure.
This isn’t a race. It’s an off-season journey built around community, discovery, and the joy of riding. You’ll ride with like-minded gravel enthusiasts, supported by the Ride Out crew and joined by Cannondale ambassador and route creator Erwin Sikkens.
Between the miles, there’s good coffee, real food, and the kind of camaraderie that makes winter rides unforgettable.
We spend the night at the Bilderberg Hotel ’t Speulderbos in Garderen, the perfect place to warm up, refuel, and relax after a day on the bike. Expect a hearty dinner, breakfast, and two on-route lunches to keep you rolling along the gravel trails.
You can bring your own gravel bike/MTB, or opt for one of the Cannondale test bikes available exclusively for this event. (You can sign up for one of the test bikes while checking out).
A mix of forest paths, gravel tracks, and quiet roads through the heart of the Veluwe.
With limited daylight and cool temperatures, it’s a true off-season challenge, think off 2–7°C, possible frost, and short days. Layers are key, and the sense of achievement is huge.

You are responsible for arranging your own transport to Arnhem station on Saturday, December 13, and from Zwolle station on Sunday, December 14.
Spots are limited, this is a small-group experience designed for connection, adventure, and great storytelling on two wheels.

Info: We’ll gather between 8:00 and 9:00 AM to hand out the Cannondale test bikes, do a check on your own bikes and get ready for our adventure across the Veluwe. After a final briefing, we’ll roll out from the heart of Arnhem.
Info: We’ll ride the first part of the route from Arnhem towards Apeldoorn in two evenly split groups. Get ready for breathtaking views and true winter riding conditions.

Info: After a well-deserved lunch, it’s time for the final stretch towards Garderen in Gelderland, where we’ll arrive after roughly 75 km of unpaved roads.
