Yvonne Weldon is a proud Wiradjuri woman and the first Aboriginal councillor ever elected to the City of Sydney. She has carried community leadership into many spaces; as Chair of the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council, as CEO of the Stolen Generations Council (NSW & ACT), and as a voice for families, children, and survivors.
In this year’s Frank Archibald Memorial Lecture, Yvonne will honour the legacy of her late uncle Paul Coe and reflect on her upbringing in the Redfern revolution. She will share what she has learned walking between protest lines and policy tables, and speak to the unfinished work of Closing the Gap.
You are invited to join us on country at UNE Armidale campus and via Zoom, to listen to Yvonne’s story and reflect with us on the responsibilities we all carry for change.
