Following is some general information about the series:
The weekly Wednesday dances go from 7:30-10:30pm. Admission is by sliding scale: $5-$15. With exceptions for a few special events which are announced separately, dances take place at the Park Avenue Congregational Church (PACC), 50 Paul Revere Rd, Arlington, MA, located at the intersection of Park Avenue and Paul Revere Road (one block from Massachusetts Avenue), in Arlington Heights, MA.
No experience is necessary, nor do you need to come with a partner. We enthusiastically welcome beginners to our dances! English dance basics available starting at 7pm, and we encourage beginners to seek out experienced dancers as partners (even/especially if you are attending the dance with a friend). Almost all dances are taught and will have a thorough "walk through" with teaching as needed. Occasionally, a caller may announce that they will "prompt" (but not thoroughly teach) a dance that s/he deems familiar enough to the majority of dancers.
On the 3rd Wednesday of each month, we hold a "style" workshop from 6:30-7:15pm. We welcome all dancers to participate: new and experienced dancers all have things that we can learn from each other.
Every month, the CDSBC callers choose a "dance of the month", which is typically taught each week of the month at the beginning of the second half of the evening. Also, on the second Wednesday of the month, there will be a birthday celebration with cake and a familiar song 😉 for all whose birthdays occur within that month. The last Wednesday of each month will be called without gender references.
Re: Covid: Vaccinations and masks are now optional. However, in the interest of keeping all members of our community safe from Covid spread, we ask that you not attend the dance if a) you have or recently have had Covid symptoms, or b) you have had a positive test result or exposure to someone who is Covid-positive within the past five (5) days. For the detailed Covid policy, please see:

Please note, these policies are subject to change if the health metrics suggest that a change would be in the interest of most attendees to the dance. In that case, we will post to Facebook about the update.
