The Arc of Northern Virginia promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes. We are a 63-year old nonprofit that represents and serves over 39,000 people with IDD—such as autism, Down syndrome, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and rare chromosomal disorders—of all ages and their families throughout the lifespan, from diagnosis and early intervention services to aging with a disability. The breadth of our programs, services, and advocacy efforts demonstrates our commitment to creating a community where people with IDD can live "A Life Like Yours." Also, because each person with a disability typically has at least 1-2 family members or caregivers involved in their care, our efforts can benefit over 100,000 people. Some of our programs serve all of VA, MD, and DC. More information at: thearcofnova.org
