What does it take to be a good producer on a fast-paced film set, where time pressure, creative ambitions, and different personalities collide? And how do you build trust when collaborations are often short-lived – but intense?
In this workshop, we welcome producer David Lukunku, who will share his experience working as a producer, collaborating, and communicating in the film industry. Drawing on everything from LEGO commercials to feature film productions, David will provide concrete tools on how you, as a producer (or aspiring producer), can balance logistics and artistic vision, strengthen relationships, and create a healthy working environment on set.

• The producer’s role as the “glue” in production: how to balance creative visions with practical frameworks and quickly build trust during short productions.
• Communication under pressure – without losing perspective: how to stay calm, keep morale high in crisis situations, and lead a team without micromanaging.
• Conflict management as a creative driver: how disagreements can be turned into new ideas and strengthen collaboration rather than weaken it.
• Empathy and sustainability: how to prevent stress and burnout, both for yourself and your team, while still delivering results.
Throughout the workshop participants will work hands-on with cases and exercises, testing out the methods in practice.
𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗟𝘂𝗸𝘂𝗻𝗸𝘂 is a film creative currently working at LEGO. Educated as a film producer at Super8 and holding a Master’s degree in IT Product Design from SDU, David combines user-centric design methods with a strong foundation in film production.
He has managed productions such as Mindi (2025), shortlisted for the Robert Awards, as well as two short films funded by Den Vestdanske Filmpulje that explore humanity’s relationship with nature. In addition, he served as Chairman of Super8’s Årgang 11, gaining valuable leadership experience.
The workshop is open to everyone but will be especially relevant if you are already producing – or dreaming of becoming a producer.
The workshop will be taught in english, but you’re free to ask questions in danish, if you feel more comfortable doing so.
