miaw (DK/NL) is a cross-pop duo performing a UK bass-inspired deconstructed club music that makes your thoughts drift towards Sega Bodega, Body Meat, and james K, while blending into the field of shoegaze and ‘90s trip-hop.
Consisting of Frederik Bruun and Liza Dries from Denmark and the Netherlands, the two producers use fast breakbeats, arpeggiated synthesizers, and unorthodox sampling techniques to create a sound at the intersection of a remix and a pop song.
Following their debut EP, ‘My Petswan’ (Petrola 80 - Astrid Sonne, Lyra Valenza), their new single ‘moving in’ is already making waves, being picked up by P6 Beat (DK), Nina Protocol (Staff Picks) (US), The Needle Drop (US), HighClouds Magazine (BE), TURTLENEK (DE), Mondosonoro (ES), 808 Radio (ES), and DCL Kultur (ES).
This May, miaw is dropping their next longer release, which they will unfold live at PHONO for the very first time in Aarhus <3��miaw have played festivals such as ESNS, MIL Lisbon, O Salgado Faz Anos, by:larm, Spot, and Vegas Udvalgte, as well as toured across Europe and shared stage with Acopia, Lyra Valenza, 100%WET, and Jack J.
