Den 1. november byder kollision velkommen til en aften hvor eksperimenterende musik, performance og genreåbenhed tilsammen danner et manifest for samtidens tendenser. To artister, der på hver deres måde bevæger sig i grænselandet mellem det sarte og det voldsomme, indtager scenen og inviterer publikum ind i deres abstrakte verdener, når VoxHall slår dørene op for Francesca Burattelli og J. Ludvig III. Forvent en aften, hvor tid opløses og du inviteres med på en sensorisk rejse, der spænder fra barokken og ind i fremtiden.

Bag J. Ludvig III finder vi den anerkendte trommeslager/producer Jonathan Jull Ludvigsen. Jonathan vakte først folks opsigt igennem hans nyskabende jazztrio Athletic Progression, som har udgivet på det indflydelsesrige South London label Touching Bass og optrådt på det legendariske Montreux Jazz Festival. Ludvigsens præcision, hybride stil og talent for at spille breakbeats live har ført til at turnere verden rundt med artister som Erika de Casier og Liv.e. J. Ludvig III projektet begyndte at udforme sig, da han begyndte at udforske et samspil mellem komplekst trommespil og tankemyldrende sangskrivning, et særligt møde mellem det avantgardistiske og det konventionelle. I 2021 udgav han sin debutplade, “Sadboy Fusion” hvor hektiske og provokerende skæve beats cykler parallelt med Jonathans lyse, engleagtige autotunede stemme. En ekstrem kontrast mellem sårbarhed og styrke, som også kommer til udtryk i hans liveoptrædener, hvor han vender ryggen til publikum og blotter sin bare ryg, imens han udkæmper en kamp med sit instrument.

Multidiciplinære kunstner Francesca Burattelli har de seneste år været aktiv på den danske eksperimenterende musik- og kunstscene med sin særegne avant garde pop og performances. Hendes udgivelser Conditon (VISAGE) og Battle Fatigue (Anyines) fra henholdsvis 2020 og 2022 har markeret hende som en vigtig producer og kunstner i det danske undergrundsmiljø. Francescas unikke vokal er det bærende element i hendes praksis, som spænder fra konventionelt koncertformat, til performancekunst, konceptuelle musikkollager og lydinstallationer. I musikken mødes elementer fra orkestralmusik, experimental, til art-pop, i et elektronisk univers med stor udtryksmæssig spændevidde. Hun trækker den syditalienske lyd og sangtradition ind i sine kompositioner, og skaber et surrealistisk, nostalgisk og uncanny univers, som ofte akkompagneres af et stærkt visuelt performativt element. Med hendes baggrund i Fine Arts er hendes arbejde ofte tværæstetisk, med et stærkt fokus på tekstarbejde og stemmens performativitet. Hendes flersproglige sangskrivning giver musikken og værkerne alsidige associationslag, og bevæger sig ofte i politisk-emotionelle tematikker.

Hans live visuals praksis, opført i adskillige lande med over hundrede forskellige kunstnere, spænder over en bred vifte af udtryk, der fokuserer på audioreaktive warping-teknikker og improvisering af selvproducerede optagelser.

On November 1, kollision welcomes you to an evening where experimental music, performance and genre openness together form a manifesto for contemporary trends. Two artists, each moving in their own way on the border between the delicate and the violent, take the stage and invite the audience into their abstract worlds when VoxHall opens its doors to Francesca Burattelli and J. Ludvig III. Expect an evening where time dissolves and you are invited on a sensory journey that spans from the Baroque and into the future.

Behind J. Ludvig III is acclaimed drummer/producer Jonathan Jull Ludvigsen. Jonathan first gained attention through his innovative jazz trio Athletic Progression, which has released on the influential South London label Touching Bass and performed at the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival. Ludvigsen’s precision, hybrid style and talent for playing breakbeats live has led to him touring the world with artists such as Erika de Casier and Liv.e. The J. Ludvig III project began to take shape when he began to explore an interplay between complex drumming and thoughtful songwriting, a special meeting between the avant-garde and the conventional. In 2021, he released his debut album, “Sadboy Fusion”, where hectic and provocatively quirky beats cycle in parallel with Jonathan’s bright, angelic auto-tuned voice. An extreme contrast between vulnerability and strength, which is also expressed in his live performances, where he turns his back to the audience and exposes his bare back while fighting a battle with his instrument.

Multidisciplinary artist Francesca Burattelli has been active on the Danish experimental music and art scene in recent years with her distinctive avant-garde pop and performances. Her releases Conditon (VISAGE) and Battle Fatigue (Anyines) from 2020 and 2022, respectively, have marked her as an important producer and artist in the Danish underground scene. Francesca's unique vocals are the main element in her practice, which ranges from conventional concert format to performance art, conceptual music collages and sound installations. The music combines elements from orchestral music, experimental, to art-pop, in an electronic universe with a wide expressive range. She draws the southern Italian sound and singing tradition into her compositions, creating a surreal, nostalgic and uncanny universe, which is often accompanied by a strong visual performative element. With her background in Fine Arts, her work is often cross-aesthetic, with a strong focus on text work and the performativity of the voice. Her multilingual songwriting gives the music and works versatile layers of association, and often moves into political-emotional themes.
