How to Fall in Love with the Future
What if, instead of dreading the future, we could fall in love with it?
Join Kaospilot for an open dialogue with , cofounder of the international Transition Network movement, as he shares insights from his latest book, , exploring how we can break free from climate anxiety and future dread to imagine, and build, worlds we're thrilled to inhabit.
During the pandemic, Hopkins started an unusual podcast where he and his guests would "time travel" to 2030, walking down imagined future streets and visiting thriving communities they'd helped create. What began as a creative experiment became a profound discovery: when we practice inhabiting positive futures, everything changes - including how we show up as change-makers today.
In this conversation, we'll explore how visionary movements throughout history have used future imagination to inspire large-scale transformation, what neuroscience tells us about "time traveling" in our minds - and most importantly - how this practice can transform our approach to how we relate to the world and our turbulent yet full of possibility times.
Whatever your current and future path is, or if you're simply feeling overwhelmed by the state of the world, this dialogue offers a radically different approach: what would happen if we all got to work imagining a world we were deeply in love with?
