On Thursday 15 January, we’re inviting you down the rabbit hole for a special Butoh dance edition at Wunderland.
This Down the Rabbit Hole session is a fully guided, free dance class - and it’s important to arrive at 16:30, as we’ll move through the whole session together from beginning to end.
Butoh is an exploratory and deeply sensory dance form that focuses on individual movement rather than steps you have to copy. You don’t need any dance experience - just a body, curiosity and a willingness to listen to your own movements.
During the session, we’ll:
• Explore presence, slowness and attention through movement
• Work with simple, guided scores that open up personal expression
The session will be guided by Mette Aakjær, creative leader of Wunderland. She has worked with Butoh, somatic movement and audience participation for many years and is dedicated to creating safe, spacious environments where everyone can join - beginners and experienced movers alike.
