We have been so eager to continue cleaning Arcade Creek through the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex, and the GOLDEN opportunity now exists! On Monday October 6 and Tuesday October 7, most of the golfing activity near the creek will be paused for course maintenance. Therefore, the folks at Haggin Oaks have invited us to hop in the creek to remove the trash and debris over those 2 days.
To ensure we complete (or at least substantially complete) the 3/4 mile stretch that runs through the course, we will be holding 2 cleanup events both days. Please join us for as many of these 4 sessions as you can!
For the morning session, we will meet at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex main parking lot and head onto the course promptly at 8:30 a.m. For the afternoon session, we will meet near the clubhouse around 12:45 p.m. Therefore, please arrive at these cleanup sessions 10-15 mins early.
AGE LIMIT: This event is not suitable for minors under 12 years old. Minors 12 and older are invited, but must be supervised by a responsible adult during the entire event.
Please bring lots of hydration and only do what you are comfortable doing. As always, you can leave whenever you want or need. This cleanup location has some challenging access spots into the creek and may require a rope to get into the channel, however, there are some flat spots as well for easy pickings.
We will provide bags, but please bring along your sturdy waterproof footwear, grabbers, buckets, and gloves - a limited number of loaner buckets and grabbers may be available. If you have a cultivator or shovel, those could also be handy. Participants will be required to wear rain boots or waders if they intend to get into water, if any. Entry into any waters is always optional.
As with all events shared on our Page, participation is performed solely at your own risk. Please place safety FIRST and do only what you feel comfortable doing. Moreover, participants will be required to sign a Release and Waiver form if they have not done so previously.
