Magic Castles is a psychedelic rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, founded by Jason Edmonds around 2005, known for their lush, Byrdsian, and 60s-influenced sound. The band features Edmonds as the primary multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, with a rotating lineup of musicians contributing to their albums and extensive live shows. Their music blends hazy atmospheric elements with organ-driven psych-folk, resulting in a dense, rich sound with vintage vocal harmonies and arrangements.

Western Extra brings together "longtime RSTB favorites Donovan Quinn (Skygreen Leopards, New Bums) and Chris Rose (Vampire Hands, Web of Sunsets), the band finds its niche in the pop discomfort between psych, New Wave, and folk." - Raven Sings the Blues
