The hybrid presentation (in person or via Zoom webinar) will review the results of a multi-year study that assessed climate change-driven vulnerabilities at Seacliff and New Brighton State Beaches to coastal hazards and identified adaptation strategies to protect these beloved beaches into the future.
Following historic storms in early 2023, State Parks launched the Recovery and Resilience at Seacliff and New Brighton State Beaches Study to evaluate risks from sea level rise, storm surge, erosion and other coastal hazards. The study also gathered extensive public input — nearly 4,000 survey responses — to understand what people value most about these beaches and how they would like to see them adapt to a changing coastline.
