In 2023, TYLER SJ. (performing with a full band as Tyler & the Ess Jays) returned to Appleton stages after nearly five years away with a new story to tell. Fatherhood and sobriety had changed his outlook, and this hard-earned perspective informs his first collection of original songs, “Long Bit of Weather.” Recorded under the steady hand of Marc Golde at Rock Garden Studios, Tyler plugs his various influences - 90s pop and country, acoustic folk, verbose balladry - into a playlist-ready group of tunes that listeners will find immediately familiar.
