Please join us for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for Sandy Slope Elementary School, the first new school built in the Appleton Area School District in over 30 years. Our district believes in the value of neighborhood elementary schools, and so we are incredibly excited to be adding a school to this neighborhood.
For many years, this area was home to a neighborhood school called Sandy Slope, and the land our new school occupies was once the Van Handel Farm, also known as Sandy Slope. To honor that history, we proudly preserved the farm’s original silo as a lasting feature of the new Sandy Slope Elementary School campus.
Event Schedule:
Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
Brief remarks
Guided tours of the new school until 7:00 p.m.
Light refreshments will be available in the cafeteria
Sandy Slope Elementary was built to meet the needs of up to 600 students and reflects our commitment to providing high-quality learning environments for all students. We are grateful to the many individuals and community members whose input, planning, and support helped bring this project to life, and those who voted in favor of the 2022 referendum.
This event marks an exciting milestone for our district and community as we open the doors to a new school designed to support student learning, growth, and success.
