Beginner Crochet – Arlitt Cowl
Date: Saturday, September 20th & October 4th, 12:00 – 2:00 pm
Cost: $40 per student, maximum 10 students
Description: If you’ve mastered the basic stitches and are ready for a new challenge, then the Arlitt Cowl is the perfect next project! The cozy cowl is worked flat in two identical pieces and seamed, making is the perfect next step in your crochet learning.
Tools and Supplies:
Yarn - any worsted weight yarn, approx. 400 yards. A variety of appropriate yarns are available at Casting On. I recommend lighter colored yarns with a smooth twist – no fuzziness or mohair to make seeing your stitches easier.
Hook – US H (5.0mm)
Notions – locking stitch markers, tapestry needle, flexible tape measure and scissors, blocking supplies

Pattern: Arlitt Cowl pattern $6 by Sarah Korth is available on Ravelry, available for in store purchase at Casting On. Be sure to purchase the Arlitt Cowl – NOT the Arlitt Lite Cowl.
What you need to know: The basics of crochet. Chaining, single crochet, half double crochet, tensioning yarn, reading your stitches.
What you’ll learn: Spike Stitch, working in the 3rd loop, blocking, seaming, adding a border, changing colors, adjusting the size for the perfect fit.
