Art Journaling: Alter, Create, Record 4 Week Course Fall 2025

Being that we are located in a very old building, there are no elevators or escalators. The only way into the upstairs studio is to climb up 18 stairs. We are currently exploring options and funding to make this space more accessible for everyone.

This 4 week workshop will incorporate techniques and inspiration from visual journal, junk journal, and art practices. We will cover how to prepare an old book for alteration, how to combine collage, painting, and drawing techniques to create unified spreads, and a variety of prompts to create an expressive space for ongoing visual and written exploration. This class will cover the basics of abstract and representational collage approaches, oil pastel, colored pencil, acrylic painting, watercolor, and marker to empower students of all ages and art experience level to explore with abandon in their journal. All materials and supplies are included. This class is great for kids, great for adults, great for the whole family!
