Townsville Hike and Explore Community,
Many of you have visited ‘’The Terraces’’ in Bowling Green with our group, but are you aware there are two other significant waterfall formations in the immediate area?......
Join the group on a fun filled outdoor adventure visiting ‘’The Cascades”, a beautiful cascade waterfall formation deep inside the Bowling Green NP.
**Access to this hike is through private property with permission of the landowner only**
This hike has been designed to cater for those of intermediate fitness levels & will involve an 8+ hour hike & rock hop.
Starting early, we’ll hike off from private property and take up with the Rockslides trail, with a short visit to the Palm Creek Boulder, aka Black Rock along the way – this massive black granite boulder is sure to impress!
From Black Rock, we’ll hike on to the Palm Creek Rockslides, with a visit to Princess Pool along the way.
From the Rockslides, we will rock hop along St Margarets creek, before taking up with a select creek line which will take us to “The Cascades”
After an extended break, we’ll head back & stop at the Rockslides for a slide & swim.
Throughout the day, you will see some of the most beautiful & remote parts of the NP & a waterfall formation few have seen or visited.
Oh, and the creekline we will be hiking is SPECTACULAR!

The TERRAIN is creekline/rainforest & will include both ON & OFF TRAIL hiking, rock hopping and scrambling.
The ELEVATION CHANGE for the day will be ~500m
The DISTANCE of this hike in total will be ~12km
The TIME the hike will take depends on group dynamics, however I’d estimate 7/8 hours in total.
The GROUP SIZE of this event will be ~15

We will MEET at the Annandale Central Shopping Centre ( 75-91 MacArthur Dr, Annandale) at 7.00am SHARP to arrange carpooling.

-3/4 litres of water & Sterilizing Tablets (for creek refills)
-Hiking Boots/Creek Shoes/Gaiters (pref)
-Sunsmart/Dryfit Clothing (long sleeves pref.), Hat, Suncream
-Swimmers
-Morning Tea, Lunch, Afternoon Tea / Snacks & Electrolytes
-Camera
-First Aid Kit
-Bushmans/Rid
