The hip hinge is one of the most essential—and most misunderstood—movement patterns in yoga and daily life. When we learn to hinge well, we protect the spine, build strength and resilience, and move with more confidence and ease both on and off the mat.
In this workshop, Lauren—yoga teacher and Physical Therapist Assistant—will guide you through the anatomy, mechanics, and felt experience of the hip hinge. We’ll slow things down to explore how the pelvis, hamstrings, glutes, core, and spine work together, and why compensation patterns arise when we don’t feel stable or supported.
Expect accessible anatomy education, strength- and mobility-focused yoga, skillful cueing, supportive props, and time to feel and integrate.
Ideal for students with low back or hamstring tension, teachers refining cueing, and anyone curious about moving with more integrity and ease.
