6:00 PM
Under the Grey Sky (81 min)
A Belarusian journalist secretly livestreams government crackdowns on peaceful protesters following rigged elections, only to be arrested for her bravery. As she faces the full force of the regime, her husband stands by her side, risking everything in defiance of a system determined to break them both.

8:00 PM
Farewells (97 min)
A melancholic and unexpectedly frank study of the inextricability of love and regret, Has’s second feature subtly portrays Poland before and after World War II through the story of an unlikely young couple suddenly torn apart by the war's winds. "Farewells" centers on a seemingly doomed love affair between a young bourgeois student and a jaded bar girl, gradually revealing the social pressures mounting against their relationship. With the outbreak of war, the young man is sent to the battlefield and ultimately to Auschwitz. Does the end of the war make redemption and love possible—or impossible? One of Has’s great early works, Farewells showcases his talent for literary adaptation in the evocative screenplay, co-written with the novel’s original author, Stanisław Dygat.
