The FHC hosts a benefit breakfast each year, featuring a guest speaker and the presentation of the Mark Mitshkun Board of Directors Award. Funds raised from this event go directly toward our efforts to end housing discrimination and expand equal housing opportunities, making our communities more open, accessible, and inclusive for all.
The 12th Annual Fair Housing Breakfast will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on October 16th at Weber's Inn of Ann Arbor (and virtually). Our 2025 guest speaker, author Michelle Adams, will visit us as part of her national book tour. Ms. Adams will share insights from her book, The Containment, in conversation with Lester Graham from Michigan Public. The Containment details the struggle to integrate Detroit schools in the 1970s, a case that received national attention and a Supreme Court ruling, and discusses the broader connection between school segregation and housing segregation.
Breakfast opens at 8:30 a.m., and our program begins promptly at 9 a.m. The space is wheelchair-accessible, and interpretation services are available.
The event is $50 for FHC Members and $75 for Non-Members. A portion of your ticket purchase is tax deductible. Virtual live-stream tickets are $35 for FHC Members and $50 for Non-Members.
