Join Little Fox Watercolors for an in-person watercolor workshop focused on simplicity, technique, and curiosity — not perfection.
This class is designed for beginners and returning creatives who want an introductory, low-pressure way to explore watercolor using a single rich pigment: Payne’s Gray.
By removing color choices and large compositions, we’ll focus on how paint, water, and paper interact, one mark or technique at a time.
The agenda:
• Brush control and essential marks
• Flat and graded washes
• Wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques
• Positive vs. negative space
• Building value using water (Ink / Milk / Tea)
We’ll work in miniature, beginning with small swatches and ending with a 2″×3″ finished piece that blends your favorite techniques from the session.
This workshop is for:
• Absolute beginners
• Artists curious about watercolor
• Creatives seeking a calm, low-pressure experience
• Anyone who enjoys working small and learning through observation and experimentation.
Materials:
All materials are provided, including professional-grade paint, paper, and a round brush. Just bring yourself.
Optional: save a few inspiration or reference pictures in your cell phone to use as a visual guide for exercises during class. We will practice looking at the images with the perspective of lights and darks. Recreating only essential elements… minimalism.
Space is intentionally limited to keep the experience relaxed and personal.
Class Fee: $55. The option to use a credit card comes with a $2 service fee (see ticket link); Venmo is preferred, Nicole-Blais-6. Your payment secures your spot. Limit 12 to a class. Please ask any questions prior to registering; as there are no refunds for the class, unless the class is cancelled by the artist, due to the purchase of materials at time of participant registration. Please plan accordingly. If you cannot make it, notify Little Fox or Over Andover and you will be placed on standby for a future watercolor class.
The artist behind Little Fox Watercolors: Nicole Blais
Nicole (she/her) is a self-taught, neurodivergent watercolorist, graduate student, and registered nurse whose personal creative practice rewards curiosity and finds inspiration in what is uniquely imperfect.
When she isn’t painting tiny, minimalist watercolors, she reclaims and reimagines salvaged materials into wearable, recycled art — giving new life to what’s been cast away.
Through both watercolor and her Little Fox pieces, she celebrates the resilience of reforged art — an artist for survivors, seekers, creatives, and other souls who have left the path of healing a little prettier (and a lot louder) than they found it.
