Our second learning adventure is taking place at a real live Puppet Theatre in Anchorage!
Performance:
Salila Kubitza will put on a puppet show for us! If you’ve never stepped into her Spenard studio, you’re in for a treat.
Her enchanting space, one of the first houses built in Spenard has been transformed into an artist’s dream, filled with puppets, stories, and creativity around every corner. Her backyard garden is just as delightful, scattered with whimsical treasures and welcoming to all ages. Salila is a beloved part of our community, known for hosting birthday parties, camps, and after-school programs. She holds space with care and joy for both kids and parents.

Wandering Roots is more than just a fieldtrip—it's a journey of connection. Our mission is to create a traveling folk school, where adults and children learn side by side, deepening their relationship with the land, engaging with local wisdom carriers, and being taught by artists, scientists, and crafters.
By Fall 2025, I would like to be fully set up, with regular opportunities to cultivate this reciprocal learning culture.
