Deer season is here, and we couldn’t be more excited! What better way to celebrate than coming to Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint and participating in our second annual Whitetail Workshop Pint Night? This event will happen on Monday, October 6th starting at 6pm.
This will be an opportunity to learn all about white-tailed deer, their habitat and behavior, and learn hunting strategies that can be used to pursue them on public or private lands in our region. In addition to this excellent educational opportunity, there will also be countless hunting stories along with great food, drinks, and people. We will also be selling Backcountry Hunters and Anglers merchandise at this Pint Night! As always, this event is open to everyone. You do not have to be a member of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers to attend.
Joe McDermott, the Deer Program Coordinator for Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources will be teaching us all about white-tailed deer. He will be educating us not just about deer and what makes them thrive, but he will also be informing us on conservation and research efforts that are taking place across the commonwealth and ways we can get involved this hunting season. Joe is an excellent resource and will be able to answer any and all questions you may have about deer and deer hunting in Kentucky.
As are all of our Pint Nights, this will be a casual, fun way to meet fellow hunters and anglers, swap stories and learn about BHA and our mission to conserve public lands and waters. BHA members advocate for public hunting and fishing and we work to maintain and improve access to places to hunt and fish. We also speak up for wildlife, guided by the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation. Finally, we believe in and advocate for fair chase in pursuit of fish and game.
