From Beyond the Grave

The Buffalo County Historical Society/Trails & Rails Museum invites the public to experience history in a unique and meaningful way during From Beyond the Grave, an outdoor living history event at Stanley Cemetery in Amherst, NE.

Held at 5:30 PM on October 3, 4, and 5, this program brings the past to life through local reenactors who share the stories of early Buffalo County residents laid to rest in the cemetery. This year’s featured individuals include John William Taubenheim, James Edward Harris, Herman and Wilhelmina Otto, John and Mina Harmoney, Albert Fellows, John Kenney, and Gottlieb and Emelia Klunder. Each biography offers a glimpse into the lives of settlers and community members who helped shape the county’s history.
Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a lawn chair for seating during the presentations.

Admission is by free will donation, with proceeds supporting the Buffalo County Historical Society and the Trails & Rails Museum.
