On March 28, 2026 we will be holding our annual fundraising off-road event, “Crawl for CARMA”. “CARMA” (which stands for Cat Rescue Maritimes), is a registered charity (#835850561RR0001) that is near and dear to our hearts as my wife and I have given a home to eight rescued cats ourselves and do our best to help out whenever we can. Private donations and fundraisers are the only way they continue to operate.
CARMA strives to improve the lives of the homeless cats around us, most of whom were pets once that have been abandoned, or kittens that were born from these abandoned pets. Their immediate goal is to humanely reduce the number of unwanted cats and kittens dying needless premature deaths and to place non-feral homeless cats and kittens in responsible homes. They operate TNR (trap-neuter-return) programs where colonies of stray, abandoned and feral cats exist under the care of a caregiver. They also assist caregivers in providing food, shelter and medical care for animals in their colonies.
The event is $10.00 per person covering guided private trail rides, a feast of hot dogs and chili, and entry into our door prizes draws...with ALL proceeds going to CARMA (Amherst Chapter).
Champion Power Equipment has been a huge supporter of our event, going back over 10 years now, donating super cool products every year, from generators to vehicle winches and more. This year Champion has sent us an awesome gas powered 3000 psi pressure washer, which will be this years big door prize. Thank you Champion Power Equipment! You are AMAZING! :)
This year we will run somewhat stock friendly trails in South Brook, NS ten minutes outside of Springhill. With the copious amounts of snow that we have this winter, it may change the trail ratings. If we have good snow still, the stock friendly FUN will become stock doable SUPER FUN! I'm excited, I hope it sticks around.
As in previous years, we will run a "mild trail" during the day Saturday, followed by a social bonfire, hot dogs, chili, prizes and the best camaraderie. Those wishing to stick around and hit some harder trails in the evening, it is always a great time with awesome memories! Also just a stone's throw from our bonfire!
